Food of the day! AVOCADO!
If I could only have one food I would pick the avocado. Not only for it's health benefits but simply because I love them. I grew up in a household where we had avocado at every lunch and every dinner meal.  Now that I know what a super food avocados are I enjoy them even more, if that is possible.

Many people shy away from eating avocado because they think of it as a fattening food.  Just forgo the chips or the fried taco shell but keep the avocado and your whole body will thank you.

Here are just a few of the amazing benefits of avocado:
1. It protects against cholesterol related heart diseases
2. It reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
3. It is used in prevention and treatment of prostate and breast cancers. Scientists have proved that a toxin in avocado kills the cancer cells.
4. Oleic acid in avocado can be used to lower cholesterol level in blood.
5. Potassium in avocado regulates blood pressure
6. It improves the ability of the body to absorb carotenoids
7. It is a good antioxidant
8. Helps skin disorders
9. It is used to help heal people from digestive and circulatory problems
10. It tastes awesome and adds pleasure to life!

It is great for you skin, hair, digestive system and over all health and well-being.

Appreciate the healing benefits of super foods and add more pleasure to your life!

Eat avocado today!

Patricia

Do you have enough to be happy today? IntenSati affirmations to celebrate.

The IntenSati method is the practice of becoming more self aware and deliberate in the use of the power of your thoughts, words and actions.  It is the practice of loving your life, your self and all others, NOW, not waiting for circumstances to change but first to change ourselves. As above so is below, this is what we practice embodying and coming to know.

We all want what we want because we believe if we get it we will be happier.  Whether it is better health, wealth, joy or success in any area of our life, we often put off feeling good until the day comes that we have more. But for many of us those days come and go and we are still focusing on what we don't have and forgetting to appreciate and celebrate what we do have.

If the goal is to be happy, then the practice is to be happy now. You have enough to be happy now, you are good enough, pretty enough, healthy enough, successful enough to be happy right now if you choose to.  The question is will you? What has to happen in order for you to be happier today and to be able to say, "life is good in every way"?

It is all a matter of perspective. Make it EASY to be happy, grateful and alive. What you celebrate appreciates and what you visualize you magnetize! Use the power of your thoughts, words and actions and choose to affirm you are enough and you have enough to be happy today!

Gratitude is a prayer for abundance and prosperity. Ask and it is given, pray believing it is so and it shall be.  Complaining is like praying for what you don't want.  It's your choice today!

I am enough
I have enough
To be happy today
Life is good in every way
Health, wealth, joy, success
I am grateful all my needs are met
What I celebrate, appreciates
What I visualize, I magnetize
I keep my eye, on the prize
I am loving life today
I am better in every way
I am available for more
Then I have ever had before
LIFE IS GOOD!

Let this month be a month of celebration, appreciation and practice seeing all the good you DO have in your life!

I will be on maternity leave as of September 1st. Olivia is due to arrive on September 4th. My first day back will be October 17th for my Urban One Day Retreat in NYC.  The topic is Warrior Body! Loving your body and loving your life! Go to Satilfe.com events to register and to see the schedule of the day.  I will be joined by Laurie Gerber of the Handel Group.

The power of good food! Add more pleasure to your life with whole grains!

Sign up for the Warrior Body Retreat Oct 17th NYC! Go to Satilife.com and click on events. Space is limited!satilife.com

The Purpose of making changes is to add more pleasure to your life.
I hope these posts have inspired you to add some super foods to your choices.
The next food highlight on the list is whole grains. Are you a carbophobe? If you are  someone who pushes away the carbs think again. I am not talking about cakes, cookies, chips or french fries or highly processed foods. I am talking about whole grains. Whole grains are essential to health. They provide fiber, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and other nutrients.

Switching from refined grains to whole grains is a huge benefit to your heart, your blood sugar and can lower cholesterol. The list of heath-promoting abilities is quite long.

Oats in particular are a super food
Low in calories
high in fiber
high in protein
rich source of magnesium, potassium, zinc, copper, thiamine, protease inhibitors and vitamin E.
They are an excellent source of complex carbohydrates, they have twice as much protein as brown rice and helps to sustain energy.

One study shows that women who ate one serving or more of whole grains each day had a 14-19% lower overall mortality rate than those who rarely or never ate whole grains.  The study was done on women but men eat up too.

Here are some shifts you can consider making
Whole grain bread instead of refined white bread
Whole grain pasta instead of white pasta
Whole grain brown rice instead of white rice
Whole grain cereal instead of processed packaged cereal
Whole grain crackers
Read labels and get rid of the refined, sugary foods
Try whole grain tortillas for your wraps
Try other exotic grains like barley, quinoa, buckwheat, millet
Go for soba buckwheat noodles when eating Japanese food.
Use oats in your backed goods

Lose the refined and highly processed carbs and add great whole grains and feel your body start to thank you right away!

The purpose of making changes is to add more pleasure to your life. There is no progress without change.  What are you willing to change today? The more "good stuff" you add the more you crowd out the bad!

Live a life you LOVE in a body You LOVE by loving your body NOW

Power foods that are life enhancing! Go nuts! 8/25/10 Satilife.com

You can now register for the Urban One day retreat NYC on October 17th. The topic is warrior body! An amazing day. Go to satilife.com events for details.

When you take the time to choose foods that are life enhancing you are being loving towards yourself. Any actions you take from love bring more love into your life. Making small yet deliberate choices over time start to add up and your body will love you for it.  Also don't forget that working out is just as important. Even getting up and getting out and taking a nice walk in the fresh air is a loving gesture. It is not only about weight control but enhancing the quality of your life. Live a life you love, why wait? Waiting is a waste of time! Choose good food today!

Walnuts
"People who eat nuts regularly can enjoy a significant reduction in their risk of developing coronary heart disease. They'll also reduce their risk of diabetes, cancer, and a host of other chronic ailments. Eating a handful of nuts about 5 times a week would reduce your changes of getting a heart attack by at least 15 percent and possible as much as 51 percent. That's how powerful nuts are". Superfoods RX

Walnuts are one of the few rich sources of plant-derived omega-3 fatty acids, play a significant role in lowering serum cholesterol levels, a good source of fiber and protein and, and they also provide magnesium, copper, folate, and vitamin E. Finally they are the nut with the highest overall antioxidant activity.

Them main concern most people have is that nuts are very caloric and it is easy to overeat them and add too many calories to you day. Tips:

Stick to a moderate amount of 1 ounce, 5 times a week
Choose, raw, unsalted nuts instead of roasted, salted
Instead of animal protein add nuts to your salad sometimes
Crumble them and add them to yogurt and fruit salad
choose as an midday snack instead of a candy bar or cookie
Choose nut butters instead of regular butter on your whole grain bread
Make a trail mix with walnut, dried berries, raw cacao and coconut flakes instead of buying pre-made trail mix
Add to all your baked goods

Enjoy the great taste, satisfaction and healing power of walnuts and other nuts and see how a little shift in your choices can go a long way. Eat a few today and share this message with a friend.

The power of good food! Choose natures antidepressant. Feel good now.

I love reading about the power of great food and re-inspiring myself everyday to see food as way to love and nurture myself instead of simply counting calories and trying to figure out how to manage my weight.

Since every single person in this world has to deal with food and their relationship to it, I think that keeping in mind how there is so much healing power and pleasure we can have by choosing foods from our hearts not just our old habits or from our mind, we can live a life we love in a body we love and feel really good.

When we deprive ourself of good food we deprive ourself of feeling good. My belief is that when you start to fill your body up with what it needs, what it wants and what is real you will simply not want to indulge in eating habits that deprive you of it. If you pay attention to how you feel after you eat and you hold the intention to feel good, not simply for the 30 seconds that the food is in your mouth but afterwards as well, you will see how it becomes easier and easier to choose foods that improve your life.

Today practice choosing food that will feed your heart, body and your mind. Don't deprive yourself of health and vitality. Feed your body well. The purpose of making changes is to add pleasure to your life so see what changes you can make today that will add longterm pleasure to your life. I suggest you add blueberries.

I was recently looking over a book on super foods. I mentioned it before, it is called superfoods RX and it goes into great detail about the healing qualities of foods and it inspired me to share with you some of the information.  I loved blueberries before but now I have a whole new appreciation for them.  Here are just a few of the highlights of blueberries and I hope you will add them to your grocery list and enjoy the taste and the benefit of these beautifying superfoods!

All kinds of berries are packed with power and nutrition and a low amount of sugar so they are all great choices but blueberries, especially wild, organic blueberries, will give you more than what you have paid for!

Blueberries
Have more disease fighting antioxidants than any other food
Antioxidants help prevent aging
Lower the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer
Can improve brain function by slowing down the aging of the brain
Boost your immune system by raising hemoglobin and oxygen concentration in the blood
They are said to be a great natural antidepressant
They help prevent sagging skin

Eat 1-2 cups daily
make a smoothie
add to your yogurt
mix with other fruit and nuts as a snack
grab a handful in the afternoon to refresh and refuel
add to cereal, oatmeal, pancakes, breads, muffins

My personal favorite blueberry snack:
Nonfat plain yogurt
Blueberries
sprinkled with raw cacao nibs and chopped walnuts
Agave
Make, sit, eat, enjoy.
love,
Patricia

Add more pleasure to your life! Eat great food! 8/21/10

Go to Satilfe.com events page and sign up for the one day urban retreat October 17th in NYC!

The purpose of making changes is to add more pleasure to your life. So many people give up on adding pleasure because they think that making a change is simply too hard. I think lugging around an unhealthy body, feeling lethargic and sick is much harder.
Over the next few weeks I will send out foods that are really great to add to your list of great food choices. The foods on this list are foods that are packed with essential vitamins and minerals and also promote great health. It is much easier to prevent illness than to heal it. I read a statistic recently that said only 10% of Americans eat foods that would enable them to be free of chronic disease and premature death.

I believe that taking care of your body leads to living a life you love in a body you love and that is the foundation of a successful life! When you feel good, you radiate good and you attract good. Make yourself available for more good than you have ever experienced in your life before. Add good food to your life NOW!

Good food has amazing healthy properties! The food highlight of today is...SPINACH.

What puts spinach at the top of the list? Well here are a few reasons. You can eat it fresh, frozen, juice it, steam it, or mix it into a great sandwich or salad but add it as much as you can!

All dark green leafy greens are extremely healthy and should be added to your diet as much as possible. Here are a FEW key reasons.

High fiber great for elimination and detoxification
Great source of Iron
High in antioxidants which slows down aging
Help protect against cancer and heart disease
Has anti-inflamatory qualities which helps conditions such as arthritis, asthma, migrains and osteoporosis.
It has omega 3 fatty acids which very few vegetables have
Improves brain function
Very low in calories

Since most people live a very sedentary lifestyle, driving to and from work, sitting at a desk all day then watching hours and hours of TV it is important to choose good quality food that is low in calories as well. Spinach is at the top of the list!
You couldn't find a pill that has all the benefits of spinach. By adding a little spinach to your life you could be adding years of well-being also. Choosing good quality foods will help you crowd out the less than healthy choices.

Love your body, love your life, love your food and it will love you!
Enjoy it.
Patricia

Small changes that bring about big results. Make your health your #1 priority!

I am excited about my live web chat happening tomorrow 8/19 on infinitequest.com at 9pm EST. You can join me and participate and ask question live. Go to infinitequest.com/infinite-quest-live. Use the promo code Moreno2010 for a free month of infinite quest! I will talking about super foods and exercises to help you empower new habits instead of empowering your excuses! IF not now, when? Join me!

Everyday you make choices about what to eat, drink and whether or not to exercise. I believe that when you make conscious, loving choices and make your health your number 1 priority the quality of every area of your life improves.

Too often I hear people say they don't workout because they don't like it, they don't have time, they don't have the energy, they can't afford a gym. The list of reasons or excuses are long and even sometimes believable. The reality is your body needs exercise, not only to control weight but to keep your body thriving not just surviving!

The same thing goes for what you choose to eat or not to eat every single day. Most people don't want to make dietary changes because it is challenging. it is easier to continue eating what you are eating, as much as you are eating then take a pill, or maybe even undergo surgery to try and remedy the problem.

By 2020 it is estimated that 1/4 of the population will be living with multiple chronic conditions, conditions that can be significantly improved, reduced or avoided by eating well and exercising.

Only 10% of Americans eat the foods that would enable them to be free of chronic disease and premature death.

Good nutrition and exercise improve the quality of your life. Make it your number 1 priority. Don't let "I don't feel like exercising or I don't have the willpower to change my eating habits" work anymore. If you decide that you, your health and your well-being is your number one priority you can do anything!

On tomorrows live web chat I will be talking about the top 5 foods to make sure you are eating.

I will be posting more info no this topic over the next couple of weeks.

it's time to stop complaining and start creating  a life you really love.
with love,
Patricia

Let the countdown begin to the arrival of baby Olivia.

I can't believe how fast it is has gone and that in 36 weeks a baby is fully developed and ready to enter the world.  This past 36 weeks have simply been heavenly. I am so grateful that it really has been an easy pregnancy.  No morning sickness, food aversions or complications.  Last week she turned and is now head down ready to go!
I am still teaching and planning to officially stop on September 1st  unless of course she decides to come earlier! I really think that being consistent with my own workout has made this pregnancy much easier to handle.  I haven't had much swelling or back pain and my energy level has been pretty good. I do take a nap almost every day and enjoy sleeping in but I did that before I was pregnant as well.
The baby room is done and is so cute! We received our first shipment of diapers a couple of days ago and the reality hit home, it's just a few days away!
We are so grateful to our friends and family for all the love and support we have been getting. We have been showered with so many lovely gifts, cards and blessings.
Now we are just wondering, will she be early, on time or late?
More to come!

I love myself therefore I.... Love is a participatory emotion. Participate today!

"Love is a participatory emotion. It's not just something you feel. It's something you do" Marianne Williamson

I LOVE MYSELF THEREFORE I…

If you want live a life you love in a body you love then the essential ingredient to your success is love.  Loving thoughts, words and actions open up your heart to experience more love then you ever have experienced before.

When we hate our body, our life, our past, or any part of our present we cut off the flow of the very emotion or experience we are so longing to experience.

Love and hate cannot co-exist. You are always choosing one or the other. The more you choose love, give love, express love, embody love, speak loving words and take loving actions, you open the door to a powerful inner healing.

Saturate your heart, body and mind with love and live a life you love in a body you love today. Don’t wait. Every day is a new day and your life is passing and it will not wait. If not now, when?

Make a list of your top 10 answers to this question:
I love myself therefore I ….
1. workout 5 days a week
2. Eat real and organic food
3. Read lots of books
4. Tell the truth
5. Accept others as they are
6. Sleep enough
7. Meditate every day
8. Do what I love to do
9. Enjoy time with my friends
10. Stay inspired to live a life I love by loving my life.

Make your list, upgrade it daily and enjoy fulfilling it. Be a lover not a hater don't wait to fall in love!

Enjoy this day!
Love,
Patricia
