Fall in love with who you really want to be and you will THRIVE!

Hi everyone,
I want to start off by sharing a quote: “If you would fall in love with what you really want to be, you would become it. It takes an intense hunger to bring about a transformation of self.”
 -Neville

I think that one of our biggest fears is having to handle the disappointment of failing to achieve our dreams or to live a great life.  What I love about Neville's quote is that it reminds us of the tremendous power of love. When we have a yearning to achieve, to create, or to experience something and we don’t indulge that desire, we suffer.  That suffering we feel is the pain of restraining ourselves from fulfilling our destiny to be all that we are meant to be. I think that pain is even worse than putting your heart and soul into your dreams and then falling short. Every time you take action and fail, you learn valuable lessons, you fuel your fire of desire, and you gain a better idea of what is necessary for you to keep persevering. Failing is not to be feared - it's part of the path to greatness! Do you know anyone who has achieved greatness who hasn’t failed many times?

Do you ever talk yourself out of following your heart? Have you ever told yourself you are not good enough, that you will never make it, that "it" can’t happen to you?  Think about any dream you have had that you have squashed, and how painful it was to resign yourself to something less than what you really wanted before you ever gave your dream a chance. Are you ready to choose a different path?

If you commit to give up resignation and "settling," and instead allow yourself to fall in love with who you really want to be, you will awaken a deeper strength and power within you. Just letting yourself dream, imagine, and visualize an image of yourself in your glory is in itself an act of love. Love is the most powerful force in the universe.  Self-doubt, worry, fear, regret or hate will never source you with the energy required to venture out of your comfort zone, to face obstacles, to go the extra mile, to get up again... and again.

If you allow yourself to become too worried about being disappointed, laughed at, looking bad, or failing, you are wasting energy that could be used to cultivate the power, passion, and ove required to live a life you really love in a body you really love! How do you want to use YOUR power?

You can only give your attention to one thought at a time.
Falling in love with who you really want to be requires courage, persistence, faith, self-love, and respect.  You must be willing to abandon your fear and to hold fast to the vision of your dream. The greater your dedication to infusing with life your vision of who you really, REALLY want to be, the easier it will be to move toward that reality. You will begin to feel as if you are being pulled towards that reality... because you WILL be. By calling upon the power of the law of attraction, the power of love and the power of integrity, you are literally attracting the realization of your dreams.

That's what I'm doing.

For the past two years I have been trying to get pregnant. It has been a long journey, and hugely challenging to continue to close my ears to the statistics for my age, to look for a doctor that supports me rather than warns me that it will never work. For me, being a mother has always been a "must," but I also knew I wanted to be in love and have a family, rather than doing it on my own. My dream was to have it all, and no matter how long it took or how the odds seemed to be stacked against me, I held relentlessly to that vision of building my own loving family. Last year I got married to a wonderful woman. I just found out-- on June 12th--that I am pregnant.  Many have cautioned me not to tell anyone until I am 3 months pregnant, but I know that dedicating myself fully to realizing this dream means having the courage to take the risk of sharing my great news with all of you.

What I learned firsthand over these past two years was how much I really wanted it, how much I was afraid of being disappointed, and how much persistence in pursuing my dreams matter, even when it's scary.  Even now, as I write, I have a pit in my stomach as fear starts to gather and I wonder if sharing this news is a good idea.  But If I don’t say it out loud, I am just feeding the fear, the worry, and the doubt... and my only goal today is to feed the dream. It MUST be my only goal. My sharing with you is my way of strengthening my faith, of infusing the dream with even more life.

So how can YOU fuel your dream, fall in love with who you really want to be, and maintain the desire consciously and persistently in your conscious mind?

Here are a few ways to get started:

Write out your dream
Use affirmative language and be colorful and passionate.  Write it in a way that awakens your passion and excitement. Write it so vividly that it makes your mouth water and your heart yearn. Write WHY you really want it, why you MUST have it, what it means to you and what it looks and feels like... bring it to life!

Ask yourself,
If I knew I couldn’t fail, who would I really allow myself to become?

Make a vision board.  Put together a collage of pictures that indicates who you will be when you succeed, so you see it every day. This will help you keep the vision persistently and faithfully in your conscious mind!

Write out your dream in one concise and positive statement.

“I am in love with my perfect mate”
“I have the job of my dreams and I love it”
“I am making______ amount of money now! I am so grateful”

Put this statement where you can use it as a prompt to daydream, to imagine, and to dare to cast forward an image of yourself already there!  When you read it close your eyes for a few moments and allow yourself to move mentally forward to the vision of your success, to feel it!

Don’t underestimate the power of your desire, your yearning, your need to live a life you love in a body you love. Remember that the suffering comes from restraining yourself from being who you really want to, and CAN, be.

You are the master of your fate because you are blessed with the ability to control your thoughts, and to CHOOSE what goes into your conscious mind.  Just dream, have faith, and take action! Make this life’s journey an adventure. Be courageous! Go for what you really, really want!

May victory be yours!
Love,
Patricia

10 ways to get moving today! You can do it!

Don't wait until you feel like working out to go to the gym. The day may never come. Do it anyway! The only way you will get yourself to go to the gym or get a workout in is to make it a habit and go especially when you don't want to go.

Working out is important not just for your physical health or to lose some weight it will build your inner strength, your self confidence, your self discipline and your self respect. Your body needs to be moved, stretched, strengthened, fed and loved. Do something everyday even if it is a few minutes a day.

Here are some tips for adding more movement to your life.

1. Wake up and do some stretches. Take 10 minutes to do any easy stretching movements

2. Turn off the TV and pop in a workout DVD. Don't just watch it follow along!

3. Take the stairs as often as you can. Stair climbing is great way to build lower body strength.

4. Find a class you like to take and get a friend to partner up with you and commit to going regularly. Put it in your schedule

6 Join a running or walking club. Walk for a good cause! Raise some money for your favorite charity.

7. Learn a new skill or sport. Make it a hobby and learn something new.

8. Make sure when you travel your hotel room has a gym and get up and go!

9. Fill your ipod with good books and go for a walk to listen to them and enjoy them both.

10. Go outside and play! Pick up a ball, a frisbee, a hula hoop, roller blades or a bike and enjoy the outdoors.

The bottom line..move, move, move! Your body needs it, you need it and you will transform your life when you do something everyday!

Don't wait to feel like it! Do it anyway!
Feel great today!

May victory be yours!

Are you playing full out? Are you ready to stop complaining and start living a life you love?

Take a moment to think about something you really want.  It can be anything from losing weight, finding a new job, making more money, healing a health problem, improving your love life or just feeling happier over all.  Do you have it in your mind? Just pick one, any one.

Now ask yourself if you have really been giving it your best shot? Have you been playing full out?  Have you been doing what you need to do in order to succeed?

Most people when asked that question answer, "no".  Why is it that even when we say we want something we have a hard time getting ourselves to follow through and take action?  Why is it so hard to change?  Millions of people buy diet books, pills, join gyms, hire trainers and declare that today is the day they will begin only to put it off until tomorrow once again.   Well whether it is about losing weight or changing any other area in your life it is important to be able to get yourself to do what you don't want to do.  You have to be able to get yourself to take action when the action may cause discomfort.  Yes you might be saying "duh".  So how do you do that?

Well after many years of working on developing the ability to break habits I have a few ideas for you.  Over the years some of the habits I have gotten myself to break are, bulimia, exercise addiction, lying, excessive coffee drinking, excessive artificial sweetner use, smoking, drug use and cheating ( as in cheating on in my relationships), just to name a few!

What I have come to realize is that there are a few very critical things that need to happen in order for any of us to be able to build the kind of inner strength is takes to change any habit or addiction we no longer want in our lives. You build this ability.  You build it every single day.  How? By getting yourself to do things you really don't want to do.  If you are wanting to lose weight you will have to get yourself to workout and change your eating habits.  If you want to improve your relationships you will have to tell the truth, be intimate, be vulnerable.  If you want to start your own business you will need to do paper work, get investors, write a business plan. If you want to be happy you will have to stop complaining, face your fears and take action, a new action. None of this is easy  but they are things that need to be done if you want to make a change.

So how do you get yourself to do this stuff.  It is not that you don't know what to do but how do you get yourself to do it?

1.You have to build inner strength. You have to be able to do things that are uncomfortable and one way to get yourself to do that is to be very clear why you are doing it.  Do the things you don't want to do.  Make your bed when you don't feel like it. Go workout when you don't have the energy. Tell the truth when you are afraid to.  Choose a healthy food choice over a junk food choice even when you would rather not.  This inner strength essential to Thriving!

2. You must build self awareness. Once an action is a habit you basically sleepwalk through it. It is easy, effortless, mindless action. It will take your ability to stop yourself from doing what you always do and make a new choice, take a new action, have a new thought.  Self awareness is the moment you wake up from your sleepwalking and consciously make a new choice.

3.Keep the "why" very clear in your mind.  When you are about to give in, give up or make up an excuse as to why you will "start tomorrow" don't do it!  Just stick to your plan and feel the discomfort, the fear, the uneasiness and this time don't let yourself off the hook! Today is that tomorrow you have been waiting for. Why do you really want it? What are you giving up on by not following through? What will you gain by following through.?

4. Remind yourself, it is just a habit, you can build a new habit and if you stick to your new action for long enough it will become a new habit and you will soon find it easy, effortless and you will truly forget what all the fuss was about in the first place.  Ah! that will be freedom.

There is no way around it. If you are not willing to be uncomfortable and do what you need to do,  you will be stuck in you old habits and those habits will run your life.

Who wants to go to the gym every day? Who wants to choose fruit and nuts over m&m's? Who wants to feel the repercussions of telling the truth when you have been lying?  You have to make sure you know why you are doing what you are doing and know that it is not only achieving success that is the goal, it is who you are becoming when you build your ability to face discomfort for a greater good, a better life, a happier you and healthier you.

You have to want it. You have to keep focusing your attention on the bigger picture and remember no one will ever succeed in changing their life without changing their daily routine or habits.  Either stop complaining about what you don't like about yourself and your life and take some action or just accept where you are and that you are not going to change that habit and focus on one that is more important to you and then go for it. Play full out. Put yourself on the line. Stop fighting to feel comfort when it means giving up on what you really want. Stop settling for second best when you are just afraid of failing, getting hurt or being disappointed.

You have to build you inner strength. You can build it by doing things you don't really want to do and do them without complaining. Just do it.

I have put together a one day workshop on June 14th in NYC called THRIVE, not just survive! The day will start with an intenSati workout.  We will go over how to empower positive habits to improve your life and your body. Don't miss it! It will be one of the best sessions yet! May victory be yours!

The power of a habit.

“A single new habit can awaken within us a stranger totally unknown to us.”  -Unknown

The most powerful new habit we can train ourselves to adopt is that of self-control, or thought control.  We have thousands of thoughts in one day, most of which are repeated. When we repeat a thought over and over it becomes a belief, and our beliefs will eventually manifest into our reality... Not because it is "true" but because we have practiced it so much that we eventually believe it.

We either have the habit of believing in our success or in our failure. If you do not have confidence in yourself that you can succeed, then you are missing the most important component of success!  Self-confidence is a habit we can activate within us. It takes strength to build yourself up rather than seeking the approval of others. Others will only mirror back to you what you see in yourself. So make a choice to start seeing yourself in a positive light!

Self-confidence is essential to living a happy and successful life.  But how do you build this force within you? Practice! You must doubt your doubts and believe in your dreams. You must be willing to change your mind, risk failure, step out of your comfort zone, and reach for something better. You've got to be willing to hold the conviction unconditionally that you ARE worthy of success. Self-confidence is built one day at a time.
You will never change your life until you change the thoughts you think daily.  Make cultivating self-confidence a daily practice. Doubt your doubts. Be firm with yourself and use self-control. Do not let self-sabotaging thoughts linger in your mind. Demand of yourself to reach for a better thought, a better habit, and a better vision of yourself. You are the only one who can change your destiny, improve your life, practice self-control, and build your confidence.  The way to get rid of an old habit is simply to replace it with a new, more empowering one.

Build the habit of self-confidence and you will awaken the confident, successful person within you. You cannot become who you want to become by remaining who you are!

Exercise
When you find yourself doubting yourself, stop and repeat: “Today I demand of myself to reach for something better.” Then stop and visualize the person you intend to become. As you visualize the person you intend to become, remind yourself that all thoughts that are emotionalized and repeated become a new habit or belief, and all beliefs eventually manifest into physical reality. This is the practice of self-control. Master your thoughts and master your life. Be the guardian angel of your mind and be firm with yourself about what thoughts you allow to remain and implant themselves into your reality.

If you are interested in finding out more about how to build habits of success come to the THRIVE session on June 14th in NYC.  The event will begin with an intenSati workout and followed by a workshop on building powerful habits.  The second part of the day will be on nutrition and building powerful eating habits that will change your life dramatically.  If you are interested go to satilife.com and register on line or if you have more questions email amanda@satilife.com. The cost of the day is $100.00.
